David Arrington, Commander

Hello everyone!

We had a special fundraiser on September 14 to help recoup some of our building and equipment expenditures over the summer months.  It was a great success and I’d like to pay special thanks to Steve Bowen and the SAL for taking the lead and organizing the event.  They prepared all the food and put in a tremendous amount of their time.  Those type of events are not easy, and SAL always does such a great job.  I also wish to thank the Auxiliary for having a bake sale and a 50/50 during the event.  Both were very successful.  Thank you all!!

We are always looking to expand our volunteer list.  The more we have the better for everyone by relieving pressure on just a few.  We cannot have a successful post without our volunteers, it’s just that simple.  You get a meal and free drinks and we tend to have a lot of fun.  So, if you can spare a little time to help us it is very important for our legion.

For those that do not know, the president signed into law a new Legion Act that allows anyone that has served since December 7, 1941 to join.  So, if you know anyone that served and was ineligible under the old rules, let them know they are now eligible.

As always, keep our uniformed military in your thoughts.  They are the best of us all.

Well summer is gone and soon it will be time again to put the bikes away. But till then there should be a few good days to ride through the country and enjoy the leaves turning colors.

October brings around the time for nominations for officers so if you are an ALR member please be at the next few meetings to vote for officers for 2020.

Keep in mind we will be having our rib dinner on November 29, the day after Thanksgiving.
