Commander News

David Arrington, Commander

Hello everyone!

The new year begins with the same officers on the board.  The only change is 2nd Vice Commander and Adjutant swapping positions.  We all look forward to another successful year.

As many of you have already seen, major repairs to our parking lot have been accomplished with sealing and parking spot painting occurring later this summer.   It was very expensive but necessary.  We also are purchasing several new appliances for the kitchen, a new burner top stove with convection oven and a new griddle top fryer.   Our kitchen is becoming busier by the month and our bar menu sales have more than quadrupled over the last several years.  The old equipment has become unreliable.

Our own Service Officer, Alan Connelly, will become the Department Commander for the state of Indiana in July.  We are proud of his accomplishments and wish him well on what I’m sure will be a very busy year.  Also, for those interested in going down to see Alan sworn in, there is a sign-up sheet for a seat on a chartered bus that will be going down to Indy and back the same day.  There are only 45 seats available and the ride is free.

As always, keep our uniformed military in your thoughts.  They are the best of us all.
