Hello everyone!

It's hard to believe 2017 is here! March 4 is our Volunteer Dinner which will be held at the Legion. We have a live band, "Motor Folkers" playing in the bar from 7 - 11 pm. I can't say enough about our group of volunteers and their dedication to  our Post. Without them, we would not have the great success we now enjoy. I hear from many other visiting Legion officers that we are very lucky! It is so rare to have so many people willing to donate their time in support of our Legion. To all of you volunteers, you have our heartfelt gratitude. I thank all of you and hope to see you at the dinner.

Our building is getting older and we have been putting a substantial amount of funds in updating and repairing the infrastructure. Throughout the upcoming year we will be holding special fundraisers to recoup some of the funds already spent and prepare for upcoming repairs scheduled for next fall. Our first event is on April 8 and we will be having a dinner along with a Feather Party. In addition, we will have the band "Hubie Ashcroft". It should be a fun night so come out and have some fun!

We have changed our meeting schedule slightly. We will no longer have two meetings in April. May will be the only month throughout the year where we will have two meetings, due to officer elections. Election nominations will now start at the March meeting.

Everyone enjoy the remainder of this winter and I hope to see you at the Post!

As always, keep our uniformed military in your thoughts; they are the best of us all!

We are in to the New Year and I hope everyone had a great 2016. We have several fundraisers coming up over the next few months, so you volunteers please keep them in mind. Your help is very important to us!

The first is on February 4, which is the Lakeland Middle School Steak Fry. The second is on March 25, which is the LHS Baseball Fundraiser. They both should be big events and will raise much needed funds for both organizations.

Stay warm and I hope to see you at the Post!
