David Arrington, Commander
I hope you’re keeping warm and enjoying some of the warm days we are having!
As always, the Post is doing well. We have many of our Saturdays already scheduled for events this year, and some for 2019 which brings significant income to our Post. Our bar is doing great with a large amount of income coming from our new bar menu. We have an absolutely great team that works very hard to ensure we stay in the black. Kudos to all our employees and volunteers!!
Keep in mind that nominations for the May election will begin at the March meeting with a second round of nominations for the April meeting. Also, it is important to note that we will not have two meetings in May. Our election and swearing in of officers is on the 4th Tuesday. Another change to the election is that write-ins are no longer allowed, so if you want to run you have to be nominated at either the March or April meeting. After the
April meeting the election roster will be locked. The board approved me to run for a fourth term as commander. If I should be elected, I look forward to serving you and tackling next year’s challenges.
As always, keep our uniformed military in your thoughts. They are the best of us all.
Kyle Olinger, Commander
I hope everyone is enjoying some of the warm days we are having this winter.
We have a lot of events this spring. February 9 is the Headstone Project, February 24 is the Middle School Fundraiser, and March 31 is the Baseball Fundraiser. Everyone mark those and come in to lend a hand. Don’t forget the Bake Sales that are on every Chicken Night, bake up some goodies and bring them to the Post to sell.
Happy Valentine’s Day to you all.
Shirley Helmuth, President
Welcome to the New Year!
Our 50-50 winners were Judy Ferguson, Eli Helmuth, Steve Taylor, and Ralph Nelson. Thank you for your support and help. Thanks gals and Santa for helping with the Children’s Christmas Party and for decorating the Post – great job! And a special thanks to all of you that donate to support our veterans and children. Our next event is the Chili Cook-Off for the Joan Brady Nursing Scholarship on March 11 from 1-4 p.m. There will be raffles and 50-50 drawing.
You should receive your notice on dues. If you have already paid please disregard the notice. Prayers for the Bob Elliot family and Trudy Manderfeld.
God bless family, friends, and veterans.
Nick Skaggs, ALR Director
We have our Rib Dinner on March 30, so mark that date on your calendar and come out to lend a hand. We will be having our Dust-Off Bike and Car Show on April 21 at 1 p.m. so keep that in mind and start getting your bikes and favorite cars ready for the show. Let’s hope for a nice sunny day!
