Hello everyone!

It's hard to believe we’re at the end of the year!  The post had a great year and we are geared to have a great 2019.  Remember the post will be closed on Christmas day.  In addition, there will be no meeting in December since the 4th Tuesday falls on Christmas Day.

Our color guard can use some more volunteers.  A good number of our guard now go south for the winter which is making it more difficult to get the required minimum for our funeral details.  Also keep in mind, SAL and auxiliary are welcome to join.  Also, we can always use more volunteers to help cover our Friday night and event meals.  So please consider donating your time when you can, the more we have will relieve the constant pressure on any single individual.  Remember, our post is successful because of our volunteer force.  Literally, we cannot have our great evening events without our members donating their time.  If you wish to help contact Sue Pipher.

We have converted out entire lighting system to LED.  The initial cost was substantial but a rebate program through REMC covered half of the upfront expenditure.  The monthly electrical use savings is $550 so the remaining investment will be returned in less than 6 months.  After that, we are making money.  In addition, no more purchasing of bulbs and ballasts, another large annual savings.  I want to especially thank Jeff Helmuth, Mary Helmuth and Joe DiGregory for taking the time to replace virtually all the flat panel lights.  It was a lot of work that they accomplished in just a few short days.  You guys rock!!  Also, thanks to John Yates for assisting on electrical work and all the extra time he donates to help me at the post.

Finally, I want to thank Whitetails Unlimited for their $2000 donation to the post.  Thank you, Carolyn Stevens, for submitting the paperwork for our post.

As always, keep our uniformed military in your thoughts.  They are the best of us all.
