David Arrington, Commander

Hello everyone!

It’s been a busy summer so far at the post.  The parking lot is completed, the new appliances are in place, and we had to replace one of our heating/cooling units on the roof.  I want to pay special thanks to SAL and the ALR for generous donations to help offset the cost of the new appliances.  I can’t say enough about all the support both organizations give to us.  In fact, SAL with the Legion, will be hosting a fundraiser on September 14 to help with all our expenditures this summer.  It’ll be fun, meat raffles, live music, and a drawing for a new chest freezer with a $200 Gift Certificate for Albright’s Market.   Tickets for freezer and gift certificate available now at the bar.

Also, a special thanks to Whitetails Unlimited for a generous donation to our post.  We enjoy their event every year and the donations given back to us is very much appreciated.

Starting September 1, we will be changing the color of our drink chips.  Our current supply has dwindled, and we suspect many have been lost by patrons or have not been used.  So, if you have any drink chips be sure to bring them in and imbibe in some good cheer.  Starting January 1, the old chips will be obsolete and no longer accepted.

It’s that time of the year to renew dues.  See Larry Trowbridge or pay them at the bar.  If you pay before September 1 you will be entered into a $50 drawing.

As always, keep our uniformed military in your thoughts.  They are the best of us all.

Don't miss the Steak Fry on August 9! We'll be serving steak, pork chops, shrimp, or chicken tenders. The band Steve and Roy will be playing live music from 7 PM to 10 PM in the bar area.

If you have not paid your 2020 dues please get that to Craig Connelly. We have the greatest SAL members around and would love to keep all current members as well as add more!

Our nursing scholarship went to Kalie Dugan. We wish the best for her.  Our only officer change for the upcoming year is Kay Myers, our new chaplain.  A full list of officers is always listed in the newsletter.

We will be accepting 2020 dues starting in August.  Regular dues are $25, and junior members are $5.

Prayers for Joan Pipher, she is in Life Care Nursing Home in rehab.  Send her a card.

Congratulations to Allen Connelly, our 2020 Department Commander.  Good luck, we will support you.

Drive safe, the children will be back in school soon. Have a safe Labor Day.  God bless family, friends, and veterans.

Well summer has finally arrived. I would like to thank everyone who bought tickets and supported our Father’s Day raffle and congratulations to the 3 winners.

In August the riders will be hosting two events. We have our scavenger hunt on the 10th, and our rib dinner on the 30th.

September we will be having our Cancer Sucks ride on the 22nd. We need all the rider support we can get to help with our events.
