Hello everyone!

Spring is here! We have quite a few special events coming up over the next few months so check the schedule carefully. I want to point out just a few. On April 8, we will have a Feather Party with proceeds going to help replace some aging equipment at the Post. The Hubie Ashcraft Band will also perform that night, so plenty of fun for all. April 16 is Easter Brunch and May 14 is Mother's Day Brunch so come on in and gorge yourselves!

We still have plenty of room for memory plates on the patio furniture. It's $100 a plate with money going to help recoup the cost of the very nice table and chairs. Some of the existing plates have been in place for two winters and have weathered excellently, they still look like new!

It is election time and nominations have begun. All the existing officers are running for another year but feel free to throw your name in the hat if you desire - a little competition never hurts.

As always, keep our uniformed military in your thoughts; they are the best of us all!

I hope everyone is enjoying what I personally am hoping are these last days of winter!

Squad 215 recently had the honor and privilege of being able to donate $4,000 to the Childs Welfare Fund. This would not have been possible without the support of many, many people - both members and non-members. A big thank you to everyone that donated baked goods for our sales, to the people that bought them, and to Mike Boots for organizing and running the raffle for the beautiful quilt.

In addition to our normal 2nd Friday Steak Frys, we have an exciting night coming in the near future. On Saturday, April 8, there will be a Feather Party and musical entertainment at Post 215. SAL will be doing a pulled pork dinner from 5:00 to 8:00 for $8 a meal, followed by Hubie Ashcraft performing from 8:00 to 11:00. Plan on being there for a good time, with good people, and a great band!

Spring is here! Our 50-50 winners were Pat Duford, Eil Helmuth, Ned Wayne and Diane Freeman.

Our chili and soup cook-off went very well. The chili winner was Monte Powell and the soup winner was Dave Atwater. The cook- off was for our nursing scholarship program and we have four $500 scholarships to award this year. Thank you Cindy and all the gals that helped. And a special thanks to all of you that donate to support our veterans and children.

May is Poppy Month - please donate money to the veterans. Also, May 6 is the Kentucky Derby so get your hats out and come on in and choose a horse!

We may have to raise our dues to $25. The department is going to raise the amount we have to send in to them. There are still several 2017 dues that need to be paid so please check your membership card for currency.

Happy Easter, Mother's Day, Armed Forces Day, and Memoral Day. Be safe and I hope to see you at our meetings on April 25 and May 23. God bless family, friends, and veterans.

Hello everyone! I know you are all feeling the spring weather trying to come in. We riders are sure excited to get the bikes out and dust them off, lean them up and start cruising the roads.

We are so excited we are putting on a Car and Bike Show on April 22, starting at 9:00 am at the Legion. The local Boy Scout troop is helping out with a pancake and sausage breakfast. Don't worry - they are also bringing their famous donut holes that are absolutely wonderful, so stop out and have a good time! If you've got a ride you would like to show off, registration is $5. Judges will be checking out rides all day and announcing the winner at 11:00 am. Hope to see everyone out there!

And remember, look twice for bikes - we appreciate it!
